to the current problems?!
I have windows that jsut go out, no rhyme or reason, sometimes they'll work and you never know when it is going to quit when it does work. Don;t want to go to the Mall and the windows won't go up! Research has led me to believe this is a widespread problem with Nissans, can anyone confirm?!

I have heard it is either the BCM (computer), or, some say the Master Switch on the drivers side. I have yet to have anyone difinitivelty say exactly how to fix it. I hate to spend $80.00 on a new master switch, but that is cheaper than a new BCM, and dealrs cost to program it.

Can anyone tell me if they have had this experience, what you did, and what I can expect or should do to fix the problem?

Exactly one year ago this happened, it was under warranty, so the dealer just slapped a new BCM in and it's worked, but only slightly longer then 1 year, lol.

Warm weathers coming, help!!!!

No major water leaks or heavy moisture. The only thing I noticed is this started after I had washed the car last weeekend, but I mean, the doors were closed and windows up, but if anything was wet, it has to be dried up by now?
Did you notice NONE of the windows worked when your master went? Cause I was wondering why the other windows didn;t work independent if that was the case?

The master switch does tend to fail in older nissans... but that generally means a drivers' side window that will stop working since that's the switch that's most often used

If all your windows fail randomly, it's probably not the switch

Windows failing randomly....sorry for any misunderstanding

I meant to say when the master (drivers) windows stops working, none of them work, thats all. As far as independently working, another person told me that all the windows are wired through the master switch, which is why if the one goes, none of them will work.

So far I've heard:
Motor and Regulator in Drivers Door - VERY expensive
BCM Module, (Brain Control Module) - VERY expensive
Master Sitch - Drivers Door Panel - around $60.00

I'm going to try thst first I guess. no one can definitively tell me, Mark - this is your problem. So, I'll take the cheaper route and go from there I guess.

One note - When the windows short out, the Key Fob does still work, so maybe it is the panel switch?

Thanks for your suggestion and anymore people can give me, thanks!

in that case, it's worth trying the switch... pick a new one up on ebay (don't buy a used one since they do wear out)... and install... the switch does have a window-lock key which could be malfunctioning and preventing all the other switches from working....

i just replaced the one in my 98, and it was a breeze (only a pry bar and phillips screwdriver needed... 5 min job)

you haven't said what year your car is, but i believe they all just snap in w/out having to remove any door panels
