Nope... if the first 2 letters are different, practically nothing will change over.
what if one is difreent? like, could you transplant parts from a ka24de to a ga16de?

Shouldve been more precise... if the first letter is different almost no parts will transfer. If the first is the same and the second is different, some parts may transfer over- but don't bet the farm on it. The only ones I know that that rule applies to is the VQ30 and VG30DE.

They might be compatible, maybe not. I know the heads on a SR16DE and a SR20DE are interchangeable. Not sure about the variable valve timing head tho.

i think that its doable, the SR16VE head on the SR20 block, i think that they would fit BUT the prob is the ECU and the VVL, you'd have the VVL BUT if the ECU doesnt know about it then whats the point, reason being that nissan ajusts the valve timing electronically not with a changing cam lobe like honda on there vtec. get what i'm saying? so i think that it can be installed BUT i think that you would have to get a custom ecu to make it work. contact jim wolf, if it can be done, he'd be the one to do it.:D

GA16DS is a carb version of the GA16DE. The E and the S refer to the fuel delivery system (i=fuel injection, E=electronic fuel injection, S=side draft carb). The D refers to the head. (D=DOHC, V=variable valve timing)

I may be wrong- I've never looked into this... but going by Nissan engine logic the heads on the GA16DE and GA16DS should be very similar if not the same. Both are DOHC. The fuel delivery system and compression ratio are most likely the only differences.

dude, i dont mean to sound hella mean, but honestly i think that it would be cheaper in the long run and it would run better and for longer if you just bought a GA16DE and dropped it in.

I have no idea how to post pictures here.

The only think that would interest me on a DE is VTC and I never seen a european model with it. The europen GA16DE is only 100HP and is much slower than my moded DS so there is no need for a compete swap!
