I'm looking for a Nissan repair shop or mechanic in the New England area. I have a 98 Nissan Maxima gxe auto (86k miles) that's leaking oil. The leak is coming from behind the engine block above the oil pan. It seems to be the rear main seal.

The leak was a drip last year, now I'm getting a small puddle every morning. Also the CEL is on? If anyone has any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. I hope this doesn't cost much to repair...

Before jumping the gun and spending alot. If you can lift the car or somehow get under it while it's running, try finding the source. I just fixed my dad's oil leak. All it was, was the oil pressure sensor. it's located right above the oil pan on the side facing the rear of the vehicle. His was doing the same. small drip. when running it'll drip about a half quart a week! Check it first, it was a $6 repair for me. It made quite a mess under the car. but remember when driving, just the air alone will blow oil everywhere, so it may look bigger than it really is. J
