which ones are best?

I / E
7131 / 7734 resistor
7084 / 7082 platinums
6637 / 6597 iridiums
6427 / 1233 v-power

or others?

just bought my first Nissan
1987 D21 reg cab
201k + miles
automatic w/ a/c

I'd go with the 5&6 ES's. The others are a waste of money for such high mileage on the 4 banger... in my opinion.

do you guys agree w/ the thought of going with one step colder if you see alot of highway miles or one step hotter if you see only short trips in town?

I guess I'll try the V-Power's...
they're like $0.10 more each than the regular resistor plugs
and I've had good luck with them in my Silverado.

I just go with the NGK part numbers that are in the owners manual.
