Has anyone ever tried replacing just the boots on the coil when they act up? (This works many times on Ford 4.6 motors.) Or is it an electrical breakdown of the coil? If so, can it be verified with an ohm meter reading? Thanks.

Replace the entire coil! They always ohm out fine but for some oddball reason, they still don't work right!

Btw, what works for one manufacturer, doesn't always work for another, especially when you are comparing a domestic with a foreign.
