I recently purchased an 05 Altima SER. I had a 02 Maxima that I was in the process of doing scheduled maintince on. I was living in Texas about to transfer to Las Vegas, so I wanted to get my car ready for the trip. My check engine light was on due to a bad O2 sensor, so off I went to the Nissan dealership to buy a new one. I got there about 5:00 P:M and lerf about 12:30 A:M with a Altima SER.

As I walked thru the showroom I noticed there was people taking pictures of a car that had just been pulled in the main area.

I went over to a salesperson and asked what the deal was?

The salesman told me that it was the Altima SER, and the next thing I know I'm filling out an application to buy a thirty thousand dollar O2 sensor

Anyway,

I was told it was the first one shipped to Texas, so I asked the salesman for a test drive. He said it would be about twenty minutes, so I asked him to test drive a 05 Maxima while we waited. I quickly realized that I was buying a new car that day. I drove the new Maxima and was not really impressed with the dash or interior that much. (lack of sport)

When we came back from the drive the Altima was ready to go, so off we went. I know the Maxima is more refined, but who cares?

I was impressed instantly with the way the car felt on the road. It was simply more of a drivers car too me. The dash cluster, heated seats, steering wheel, 18in wheels and the sound of the exaust had me.

I had a great drive accross the country in it, and lots of fun awnsering daily questions at gas stations and stop lights here in Las Vegas.

I know I was the first owner in Texas, but other than the people on this site it seems like I'm the only owner. I have never seen another SER on the road yet, and I can't believe it.

I've seen a few forums where people are voicing there opinions about paying 30K for a Altima.

It's always a matter of opinion, and I think this car hits a home run for what you get.

One thing for sure is, it has amazed me how many people drive up wanting to race me. I've raced Vettes, Cobras, and a lot of new Maximas. I certainly didn't beat the Vettes, but it was closer than I exspected. I think they were wondering what the hell?

I know the guy's in the mustangs have respect. I have pulled away from a few of those now. I have a great video of me and a friend going 145MPH late at night passing by all the casinos on I 15.

I know there was some questions on this forum about the top speed. I think mine was just about done at 145MPH, but it probably had two or three more.

I will keep this forum posted on my mods. I am going to do many to this car.

Happy driving!
