Hello all, I have been looking around this forum for a bit and decided to join. Looks like a ton of help and information.
So here goes, I helped someone replace a timing belt last spring on the 86 XE V-6 truck. The truck never ran. Did not stay until the end but they finished putting it together and left it.
So, I got the truck and thought I would give it a go. The truck cranks but no start. I opened it back up to find a huge mess. Starting with #1 around TDC comparing with the cap off the distributor, timing belt and sprockets are way off see pic's. Can someone walk me through what I need to do before I bend a valve or two? Not sure if that tensioner is on backwards or not seems a little off too. I will be honest, I know when to say I'm over my head. So please tell me what I should do. Just want to get it running for a farm truck. Thanks in advance.
