I just received my hotshot headers and I have ran into a problem installing them. The cat bolts are really hard to get off. I got one off after working at it for an hour, but the other one wont come off. I havew grounded the bolt down too and the 14 mm soclet no longer fits the bolt. Any ideas on what to do or should I just take it to the shop and have them loosen it for me? Thanks

Happen to me on my 97 SE-R and I ended up breking the bolt in half taking it out. I had to retap the who for a bigger size bolt and went to lowes and picked up some grade 10 bolts and never have problems later when I switched exhaust again. If you did round the edges of the bolt you may have to drill it out because i doubt a removal kit would be able to take it out if you were have problems taking it out in the first place.

I had this problem on a different car, I tried WD-40 and this other stuff I swear by now PB Blaster, but on this those didn't work, i tried using a blow torch, no luck, i screwed down into the bolt and tried using an easy out, the drill I had started smoking it was working so hard, finally I ended up taking it to a shop, this was rare and part of the problem is because i had gotten the bolt half way out and broken the top of with my rachet and hand accidentally, that and whoever put them in there before me used an impact and they were down in the engine block

Thanks

hey guys thnaks for all the information. Yea I just took it to Midas and they removed for free and gave me a new bolt. Yesterday I put the HS Headers in finally andI am glad it is finally done. I drove it and It feels real good, but their is a rattling coming from somewhere under my car. I think the exhaust came off the rubber hanger or something. Im gonna take a look at it today.
