im out of a job and on unemployment. i was working in the IT field and can't find a job anywhere near where i live(i hate the bay area commute). so wanted to know if anyone could help me get any info on becoming a mechanic. i want to be ASE certified, but that requires 2 years work experience. and no one will hire me unless i am ASE certified. i live in the central valley in cali. any info will be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance

Hello,

I went to school for 3 years, passed all of my ASE tests(you dont need 2 years of work to take the tests, only to get the cert.) And got a job less than 5 miles from where i live 1 week after graduation. my school counts as one year of work and since i have been a the dealership over a year, i now have the 2 years experence for the certification
