I attempted to advance my timing to 15* BTDC by following the instructions in the sticky. Both before and after, my timing light shows only 5* at idle. If I go back and unhook the TPS and fans, it shows 15* again. Should I be seeing 15* at idle in park? Is there anything I can do to confirm the timing change (other than filling up with 87 and seeing if it pings)?
Also, am I supposed to look at the timing mark by looking straight down on it from above the motor mount, or should I look in from the front, near the radiator hose? They both give different readings.
