Ok so my 1992 240sx (s13) has just developed an overheating problem. i have been reading through other stories with this problem. i believe i have found out what it is but am looking for maybe a 2nd opinion. So the car was driven to a friends house to have an intake put on and when i got there we popped the hood and we heard the coolant in the reservoir boiling so i started it back up to look for leaks and found none but the temp. was near the top so i shut it off. we installed the intake and i drove it home and the temp. was very near the top so i watched it until i got home. i found my passenger floor board wet and was confused why until i read about it possibly being the heater core. need to know if the heater core going bad could cause the car the overheat or if there's anotehr problem to worry about. please post a comment and help me figure it out. thanks

Welcome to NF. Your overheating problem is not due to a bad heater core. Here are possible things to look at:

- Bad thermostat.
- Plugged up radiator.
- Air in the coolant system.
- Bad water pump.
