Need 2001 pathy alternator help.

My alternator had gone bad, so I have changed it out. Everything was going fine until I tried to put the top mounting bolt "long one" back in place. It slides through the holes in the alternator fine, but I can't see where it threads into a bracket...... Or should there be a nut to secure? and maybe I lost on removal? The bottom bolt went in no problems and secured to the mounting bracket.

Can you guys help!
