it was on sale at circuit city and i had to buy it.
its to get rid of the "duel" trash i have running my sub right now. it was $165. right now my sub sucks, when the bas goes to the low notes it dosnt even play so all i hear is silence :thumbdwn: i thought it may be the box so i bult a new one, that didnt solve anything at all. so now i have this sucker. tell me what you think. right now i can only wire it for 4ohm because by sub blows. but i plan on buying a new sub down the line after i have dont all my suspension and exhaust upgrades.

do you think i should use the duel for my speakers? it plays just fine in the higher notes but not in the low levels.

dont let the amp rating fool you.or the signal to noise ratio.these amps are CEA compliant.when i got mine my test card actually showed power output at 403 watts rms at 2 ohm load.I use this amp to drive a 12" type r alpine sub in small sealed box about 1.0 cubic feet.and let me tell you it thumps reallly loud.also this amp has electronic controls that alow you to configure your bass to almost any liking.get you cant go wrong at this price.
^things like that excite me even more.

buld your own box you will be much happier.

right now i will be going 4 ohm (175 RMS) with my alpine e-type 10 in sub. but i will get a 2 ohm stable cone in the future (12in) and then run it at 350 rms with a ported box. but right now i think this alpine will give me farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr better SQ than my pos duel "350rms" <yea right) i get the feeling that he duel was terribly over rated and it most likly plays at around 175-200rms tops. <and on top of that it sounds like a cow taking a dump)

now im off to install it

Bandpass boxes suck man. there is no sound quality, considering they are tuned to like 45 hz. All you hear is boom boom. Bassheads never made sense to me

well i had a grilled cheez smamch and then i decided to instal it. let me just say watts should never be the deciding factor when buying an amp! this one clearly out plays my duel....my "460 watt" duel. i put in my kanye wext CD and it used to hit and then fade into the next beat.........with this you can clearly hear each and every single bass hit, then it stops and then hits again. it is so perfect! and i havent even tweaked any of the 10 differant options on it! wow. i now understand what you SQ guys are talking about (not that i didnt like SQ, i just never heard it lol) was worth each and every penny.

yum.

actually the right driver in a properly built bandpass enclosure ie a custom one design for that particular subwoofer(s) can sound good. its just that the prefabs are designed to impress audio newbies in the showroom not to sound good in car. as for the guy who wants to run the sx's bandpass contact re and find the necissary sealed chamber/ported chamber demensions and tuning and go to caraudio.com forums and get someone, probally req or moe lester to design/build you the box. maybe more expensive if they build it but would be mutch more impressive than a q-logic box
