First search. Most people can get to about 220 or so rwhp but it cost alot. Without alot of Nitrous you won't ever even make it to stock TT range.

For the best horse power without tt or nos. Start small and then work your way up. Like getting your car chipped with the JWT chip. Best on the market for the 300zx. Next go for a full exhust sysytem. Minus the headers. After that go for a air intake JWT again has the best for the 300zx, then go for a pulley system. After that go for headers, I've heard from a few of the guys on this forum that Escort headers are real good for the 300zx. Then one of the bigger job that you could do to your 300zx is putting performance cams. One more time JWT they got it. If everything part that I said would add between 15-18hp then you could get between 105-126hp. After all these mods get your car tuned up real good. That could add another 5 or 10hp. Putting this dream sheet on your car can and all will cost lots of $$$. But this could be the info you been looking for. And remember when adding more horsepower to your car or anycar. Your tranny can only take so much. So you should look into a tranny that can take the extra hp's. Maybe intergrating a tt transmission could be the way to go.

That is a matter of opinion, JWT has been around longer, but dynos prove that AshSpec ECU has higher gains. Some say that they arent very safe map, which is bogus, they are well within safety spec.

Next go for a full exhust sysytem. Minus the headers. After that go for a air intake JWT again has the best for the 300zx
Again, a matter of opinion, most air intakes have the same minimal gain. An Apex-i filter or a Blitz, or K&N will be similar.

then go for a pulley system. After that go for headers
So why skip the headers before??
I agree with the Pulley system, UR has a good rep. I use UR.

Escort headers are the best, but for $1,899 i dont think its worth it

You may get 220rwhp with these. and you wouldnt have to touch your tranny, because the small gains you will get out of these mods wont be close to the ammount your tranny can take

The reason I think you should skip the headers is the same reason I think, (just a matter of opinion) you should do the cams last. Those are the biggest jobs you can do to you Z. The pulley system and the rest of the mod can take a couple of hours at the most. But the cams and headers can take around 4hrs+.

But with you JWT thing. I'm with you. Before they are plenty of other brands that are just as good. Me again matter of opinion. I like JWT and Blitz. When I station in Japan every talked about Blitz. I didn't even hear about JWT till i got back. So I compare the two. And those are my brands of choice. Hey Greddy and Stillen are good two.

If a stock Z is pulling 180whp then with the mods I listed. A Z can pull over 280whp.

Your pushing 210whp. How much are you pushing at the flywheel? You add the pulley system and cams, those two can give an 30hp. How much will you lose at the fly. I'm not sure. Can any answer that. What is the average lose of hp from the flywheel to the wheels. I was asking my friend and he says it all depends. So I can't really say what the average lose is. But we all now that a good trany means more ponies to the wheels. Maybe not a tt, but a more beefed up n/a could do. Z Specialist in CA. Have a good line up.

And the 280 I quoted was just adding everything I has said before. I know with mods you have, and adding a little more you can pull at least 260whp. I mean your almost their anyways.

You will be really lucky to see about 230rwhp with those mods, and thats REALLY lucky. Cams and headers won't get you that far...

Tranny loss is about 15%.

James is correct, and sometimes more.

Also, you are missing alot of power-freeing mods such as a lightweight flywheel, and a single piece driveshaft, even steel would help, but aluminum and cfibre ones as well. still you wont see 280 rwhp.

What about boring out your engine. I was reading a import racing magazine. And this one guy bored his engine to a 3.2. He said he got about 30hp out if it.

When I said 280 I was just added that to a stock 180whp. But I didn't consider how much someone would lose at the tranny. I was figuring if you add all the stuff I said which was around 126hp. Someone could reach 280whp with a good tranny. Thanx for bring me down to earth. I want to give my Z all the credit TT or N/A. So ok maybe not 280whp but what about 260whp?

Im NA currently with a Duel Custom built Cold Air Intake,Jim Wolf ECU,Stillen Cams,Shaved Head,Polished Intake,Bigger Injectors think their 330cc,Cat back exhaust with Borla Mufflers, and TT Tranny with a ACT (single plate)
Clutch and a Light weight Flywheel....Probably going to put some spray to it and see how it does. but then im gonna save money and work towards a TT swap (never been on the dyno but they guy who helped me has the same set up and he has 233rwhp on his na) but if you really want to build for HP do a TT swap and go from their otherwise your 300 will never see 300 if ya get my drift

Man all that and only 233whp. Well can't say much. That's still a lot coming from 180whp. Right! So what's your 1/4mile? Yeah what are the number for the TT and N/A on the 1/4?
