Hey, I was wondering if when you take off your CAT, do you lose power before 4Grand? Now if I were to upgrade to a 2 and a quarter inch cat inlet and outlet but the inlet stayed factory size while the outlet stayed the 2and a quarter, would I increase in performance or decrease?

{I've already been informed that the answer to my first question is yes i will lose power.}

No.

I bet you lose no bottom end since you still have that restrictive inlet. All you're going to do is change the sound and gain maybe a smidge of power.

dont worry about losing bottom end on an SR....the newest header on the market (by hotshot, their 6th gen sr header) has a 3in secondary, and a few guys have already switched to full header back 3in or at least 2.5in. bottom line, dont worry about losing power on an SR without backpressure. you can go catless with a straight through muffler on 2.25 and gain bottom end. even better with header. SR's were designed with bost in mind, so they respond well to not having backpressure.

Cool......

Well The first setup I had was with just the highflo cat on and running
the 2 and a quarter inch pipe back to the first bend. (right before the
gas tank.) It was loud as hell....I mean LOUD as crap and it didn't seem to
gain any performance, it actually felt like it lost performance.

The second setup I ran, put a 90 bend where it used to be (at the gas tank)
running into the factory calsonic resonator that continues out the side
of the car right before the rear right wheel.(The drawing got messed up)

:Dont you guys love my drawings? I know you guys out there have much better setups than this, but I tried to gain as much performance as I could
from the exhaust without having to lay down hundreds of $. (I'm broke as heck. I'm trying to gain as much free performance as I can before I can
afford the big stuff later down the road. {Starving College student} :cheers: )
