I never really thought about it before, but I don't think the lights on my dash have ever worked when I turn over the ignition. I noticed this when I read the instructions for checking my ECU. It seems like I have a recollection of them working when I first purchased the truck 3 years ago. However, I cannot remember the last time I saw them on. My main concern is being able to see the check engine light when I develop a problem (see other thread posted today).

What can cause this to happen? I have ran the ECU, it gives a code 12, as discussed in other thread. That is the only issue it shows. Currently, the only light that works is the bright lights indicator.

I'd pull the gauges and check the bulbs and/or electrical sockets. It's not too hard, takes a Philips screwdriver and about 10 minutes.

10 Mins to pull the gauges out? Please elaborate on how to do this. It looks like more work than that or I would have tried it already. Thanks.
