Well moding the B12 style sentra is all well and good, but the car I've always wanted was a 300zx. Next week I'm going to get the 50th aniversary version 300zx, and sadly I have to say goodbye to the Sentra that I had such big plans for.
NOOOOO!!!! Did you sell the car to an enthusiast or just someone looking for a commuter??? Sad to see you go BTW the 300ZX is one of my favourite Nissans so at least you are staying in the family. What year is it/colour/milage/NA or TT??
I'll answer your questions; its silver, has 120k miles on it, its an 85, and it is TT. Yeah, I won't leave the Nissan family, but look at it this way 1985 300ZX TT(50th aniversary, they only made 5,000 of them) vs 1989 Sentra 4spd manual with 175k miles on it. I'm actually thinking of not selling the Sentra though. I've been talking about engine swap for 5 months and I'd like to see an 89 Sentra powered by the CA18DET.
Yes, we will miss a fellow B12er for sure. You might want to keep the B12 though, to keep the winter road salt off of your Z31. It's funny you say it's an '85 though, because in the US, the 50th anniversary 300ZX was an '84 [the only year that had the scoop on the hood]. By the way, the 50th anniversary 300ZX was a single turbo car. Twin turbos didn't come out until the Z32 model in '90. Good Luck!
Good luck with the transition from FWD to RWD I strongly advise you to keep your sentra for it is truly a classic and it will not let you down. If you have good mechanic skills or got a good mechanic I say go for the 300. Be aware that this turbocharger is not easy to get to and beware of smoking problems before you completely settle for it (ie compression test/leak down test). Other than that, enjoy your new ride and don't be no stranger to us in the B12 land..............Drive Safely
