Good morning folks,

I have recently failed my warrant of fitness based on the rear brakes not functioning properly causing the front brakes to lock. I have a 1995 Nissan Mistral and have done substantial work on the brakes yet am still having trouble with it. First of all, we replaced the rear drums, brake shoes and wheel cylinders, but that resulted in only a slight improvement and still failed the WOF. We could not find a load sensing valve on the car, so went ahead and replaced the master cylinder as well as the front disc pads. We have bled the brakes several times, but they still don't function properly. Currently the brake pedal is firm and high until the engine is started and the brake booster is activated, then the pedal gets soft and slowly goes to the floor. The pedal is then low and spongy. There is plenty of vacuum, almost too much, and no leaks or loss of brake fluid.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
