i have found a great deal on some sparco seats and i would really like to get them, the only problem is that they are black and gray. For my car or at least what my car is going to be i need blue and gray. my question is would it be worth it to get the seats, which are a few hundred less than retail and have the black taken out and blue put in, i plan on having my rear seats done to match the front so would having the front seats done also be uneconomical?

you should just tell me where your getting them so i can buy a set. :)
But yes i think it would be worth it since they are sparcos and youll be lucky if you can get them for any sort of good price. ACheck upholstory shops and see how much they'd charge for it.

P.S.- where ARE you getting those cool seats?

If they are on E Bay, be careful! There are quite a few cheapie knockoffs on there relabeled as a name brand seat. The quality is nowhere near as good.
As far as economics goes, reupholstering the seats is not something to be done for these reasons! It's something you do if it is what you want, not because of any economic benefit.Unless the car is trashed, it likely won't increase it's resale valve.

sorry for the confusion but by ecenomical i wasn't thinking about resale value (infact i don't plan on selling my car) i meant would it be more cost efficient to redo the fabric on a discounted seat or to just by the seat full price. hope that makes sense

Well, do a typical cost-benefit analysis then. See how much it would be to have the cheap seats reupholstered, add that to the price of the seats and see if it is cheaper than just getting new ones that are comparable in style and comfort. You didn't mention what you are paying for the seats, what material they will be upholstered in , etc so it is difficult for me to render an opinion.
