Because of injector leak, I am going to replace the injector's O-rings and insulators.
In the pic you see the insulator, which has a slits at one side.
How should one install the insulator - with the slits upward or downward?

Any advise greatly appreciated.

P.S. The old insulators were DIY product (were cut manually) and had no slits.
Since now I decided to install factory insulators, no clue what is the correct orientation..

I seem to recall that the slots face up, but I don't think it actually matters. Those washers are just cushions for the top of the injector, they don't seal anything.

Looking at injector's shape, this makes sense. So, O-rings have sealing function
and presumably leaking is due to the worn O-ring?

Yes, the two lower o-rings do all the sealing. If it's leaking into the cylinder then either the lower one is blown or the injector is stuck open, if it's leaking to the outside then the upper one is blown.
