I have a 2007 Xtrail that I hope to bring back to Canada after living in Mexico for a year. It was bought in Mexico and it does not have the U.S Market Standards Compliance Sticker on the drivers side door, which apparently I need to import the car into Canada. I was wondering if anyone has done this? Also does the Canadian xtrail have this sticker on the driver door??

Any info would be helpful. I really want to keep my Xtrail!!!

Thanks,
Cathie:)

I think you may have some trouble in doing this.

There were some discussions before on the HP difference between Mexico and Canada X-Trail (180 vs 165). Some thought this difference was due to tighter emissions on the Canadian models and some though it was due to engine tuning vis a vis a higher max rpm on the Mex model.

Probably it is due to both, hence my gut feeling tells me you would have trouble importing to Canada... But then again I am not an expert on imports.

Emissions aside, it seems even more complex; have a look here to start:
