It was dark....it was garbage day... don't ask

so now I get to change my tail light assembly.

I searched old threads and found that it should be as easy as unscrewing the bolts, and then unscrewing the bulb assembly.

Anything else I should know?

and where should I buy it? Courtesy Parts has it for $130. Parts Bin has it for $108 but I've never ordered from them.

Autozone wants $150!

Yep its as easy as that.
Open tailgate, unscrew screws, pull tailight assy out (don't be afraid to give it a little yank). That's it....very easy. This applies to 96-04 R50's.

Try those places as well ebay.

I picked up the assembly from a local place for $89!!

Now I need the temps to rise just a bit here so I can install it!

I thought I would post up some pics and maybe it'll help someone else in the future - it was SUPER easy!

old light (covered in road salt) next to the new one:

unscrew the two bolts on the left side there, and then it's held in place by two pins on the right side - I carefully popped them out with a screwdriver

then I just unscrewed the bulbs and put them into the new light (rather than trying to replace the whole wiring "harness" and viola!

total time to replace: 90 seconds :givebeer:

next: off to the car wash LOL
