Just rebuilt the engine in my 1987 nissan sentra with the 1.6 with SPFI. It runs okay, but it has a miss. This occurs when it's idling and even when I rev it up to 2000rpm or so. I hooked my timing light to each spark plug to see if there was a constant spark and on each wire except the third there seemed to be intermittent. It would spark continuously for a while and then it wouldn't spark for a couple or times and then it would spark again- or it would seem to miss 2 or 3 sparks in a row. I have a new distributor cap on the car, but the rotor and the coil are old. Has anyone had this problem before and can help me. Is it the coil? Thanks in advance.

id change the rotor since its pretty cheap and also check the wiring for cracks... also make sure all the wires dont touch each others, that could cause spark jumping ... could be the coil but im still waiting to hear about it in the b12 section. Havent heard of anyone having problem with them yet.
