At first the car did not want to start, it turned over but it did not start. I unhooked the hose from the valve cover to the intake it now it starts but it iddles bad and if I hook the hose back to the valve cover the engine dies. I have checked the throttle valve siwtch and it work good, and I have checked the flow meter and it looks like the air temp sensor is not working. Can this cause this problem or effect the engine that much? I also noticed cracks in the intake hoses and I am waiting for the new ones to come in.

What else could it be? The car was sitting for a while and now that I am trying to use I have this problem. Please help

Thanks for the help

I love the 280z it was my favorite car.
Seals crack, hoses crack, it may need an entire overhaul.
Even if it doesn't have much mileage the car is old.
How much would it cost to drop in a rehabbed engine?
Nothing beats this car. It's a shame they don't make them
as cool as they used to. Best of luck.
