I hope that you don't mean the valve body. If springs fell out of that, you might have a problem.

I can't imagine the springs your talking about though. Please elaborate on all your details.

What size is the spring?

How wont the tranny work now?

Ask him for the step by steps of what he did.

There are four accumulator valves located above the valve body. Three of them have springs which rest on the valve body, and will fall out when the valve body is removed. The Factory Service Manual shows reassembly of the valve body to the trans with the trans out and upside-down. The springs are placed on the accumulator valves, and then the valve body is installed.

With the trans in the car, the springs will have to be placed in position on the valve body and the valve body carefully raised into position so as not to disturb them. Then the valve body will have to be held in place against the spring pressure while the attaching bolts are tightened. This will be a PIA.

There are two lengths of attaching bolts which must go in specific locations and tightened with a torque wrench to ~5.5 ft-lbs.

Here is a diagram from the FSM:

I suggest you download a Factory Service Manual from www.phatg20.com You will have to join to get it.
