Ok, here's the problem, I have a 1993 NX 2000, and the shifter is rubbing my hand raw from the intermittent grips. the leather is broken and sharp, the stitching is all falling to crap.
And I can't get the thing off!
Does this thing screw off? Pull off? I don't understand it!
I know that some of you guys/girls have changed out your shifter knobs, and I seriously need to do it, next step ripping off the leather, then cutting through the rubber untill I hit metal, lol.

Thanks in advance guys.

If it's like the shifter in my sentra then you have to cut the old one off! They're glued on BIG time, just cut and pull in chunks it'll come off sooner or later! You then just put on your new one with the tightening screws in the neck of it and keep snugging it up so the shifter knob is centered and tight.

THe stock shift knob is screwed on. BUt its screwed on with glue. All you need to do is grab it with a vice grip and grab the shift lever with another pair and twist in opposite directions. It will come off and then you can screw another knob onto the shift lever or you can use the Allen screw type knobs.
