My 95 4x4 2.4 5 speed idles up and down and sometimes stops and idles at about 2300 to 2500 rpms. Also I have turned the screw down under the seat and it sometimes helps on the high idle and lowers it to around 1800 to 2000 rpms but still goes up and down. Also when you get to around 3500 rpm something vibrates/rattles in the steering column real bad. The truck did set in a impound lot for a little over 2 years.

the screw under the seat is for the computer not anything to do with the idle. there will be an idle adjustment screw on the t-body for that. its acting like you TPS is acting up I would check that. any codes.
