Is the rb26dett motors interference or non interference motors? I have the chance to buy a 92 with about 80k miles right hand drive everything is very clean but they say the timing chain is broke. Think the motor is shot?

how many cars do you know of that can survive a broken timing chain? i know of very few and the RB26DETT is not one of them...

chances are its fooked... now to get the engine rebuilt will cost about 4000$ or buy a fresh one for about 7000

will i have found motor/tranny combos for 3g. Is the car worth 9500-10g with a clean title clean body but bad motor?

depends on whre you are at... if your in canada id say no but if your in the usa then id say yes...

as for motor trnny combo for 3g's id stay away from it... make sure you buy from a very reputable source when it comes to engines... lots of suppliers are shady and will sell stuff from total wrecklrs and never know the true condition of the engine
