Hey everyone, I'm a newbie looking for some help....

I just purchused a 96' 200SX SE-R and was thinking about adjusting the timing. I've read that the stock timing is anywhere from 10 to 13 degrees but can be set up to around 17 to 19 degrees (w/ 92 octane gas). Anyhow, does anyone have any info. or experience on this? Is it really worth the pain and hassle (and the chance of totally screwing up the pistons and valves) in order to gain an extra 6 hp? I had an older Eclipse and the timing broke and it was one of the worst experiences of my life. Any thoughts?
