I just put on new headers but they seem to have changed the engine bay sound alot. It almost sounds like im driving a deisel. Is that what performance oriented headers sound like. There is one thing, to get it running and get it home from where i was working on it i had to couple what i think is the EGR tube together with some flexible metal and hose clamp i plan on fixing it properly, but could that be the reason?

Headers make your car sound deeper in tone, but generally not louder, especially not like a diesel. My car sounds like a chopper right now with open downpipe, I think you might have a leak. Tighten things up all around.

I bet what he is hereing is the egr valve if it's not fully sealed or in this cae blocked off with a plate you will here this type of noise. Block it off a plate,I would bet you can get one the same place as the header......

Sure. But first I want to say that I am No Nissan expert by any means! Lol! But that being said on any ride that I have ever owned that had a V8 in it and was a smog motor and had an Egr valve in it I always eliminated it. Normally this is done by first removing it second blocking off the the hole with a block off plate. I can also say that I do not know what will happen to one of these little cars when you do somthing like this?? But ten again that's what Hot rodding is all about! Good luck and maybe Ian can help you further he seems to be a very knowledgeable fellow!!
