I have seen listings of a GA18DE for some non-USA applications. Does anyone have any specs for this engine, like the bore/stroke, or horsepower? I found this place in AZ that imports them from Japan for like $820. Sounds to me like you could put a new Hotshot turbo on one of these GA18DE's and make some killer torque! ;)

There's a GA18? I thought there was just the CA18 in the Pulsar. I didn't know the GA had a 1.8 engine. Maybe I learned something new today.

*****Check out the website: http://members.tripod.com/~Asian_E/index-7.html The place is called Sun's Engines, [1-888-640-9128]. It's from the GA family of engines, I can't see why it wouldn't fit your GA16DE trans. Would you need the GA18DE's ECU? I don't know. If these engines are right here in the US, and only $700 or $800 used [gauranteed to have less than 50,000 miles on them too], I think it's time we start transplanting them! :D

I found that chart that shows what cars it came in. I guess if you can find old Silvia, Bluebird and Presea websites you might see numbers. I don't really trust that site too much but it was the best I could find at 8 AM. Nowhere in the Pulsar list does it mention the CA18 that came in it, but oh well.

Has anyone actually seen this engine. What about the numbers horsepower and torque. I seen the sr20 is only a little more,
*****My original post asked the same questions [for hp and torque]. I'm a bit lost on the second comment: "The SR20 is only a little more" than what?

*****Thanks Underdog. I clicked onto the link you gave, but the listings on the chart were all blank. Were they all filled in on your screen?

Yeah but I think that chart is innaccurate. I'll look for something else. I'm interested to know what a GA18 is myself.

I know your original post asked that my bad. The sr20 is 875 and the ga18 is 700 to me thats only a little more especially if we dont know the numbers or if we still will need the tranny swap or not

get this man- a fifty shot, but, I wasnt using it like I should have, I was being bad- I had to buy a new engine today, Im hoping it makes it to my work this weekend so I can put it in this weekend- Im going to build the old one- I still havent found anything in my engine lists that do list a ga18de- just the CA, so I will make one out of the engine I pull- I wanna use forged parts and build it properly so I can run a 100 shot. I learned also that I should sport the extra cash and use the n.o.s multi port system- reson being- I melted two spark plugs- guess which- 1&2, 3&4 were perfect! so now im kinda against the whole mount it in the intake deal- I was using it in fourth gear though- yeah stupid I know- but too bad so sad, that engine had too many miles on it anyways- I wanted a new one (dont I sound like a jackass?:) It was mounted in the ass end of the maf housing where it should have had enough room to disperse properly, but it still went into 1&2 the most- isnt that physics?air moving fast- nitrous is getting pushed farther into the plenum by the air? everyone wants to go into 1&2- so thats my story

False alarm!

Hi Guys, I called Sun's engines today, and asked about the two GA18DE's they have listed. It turns out, that it is a typo, and they actually have two CA18DE's. We got all exited for nothing. It's funny though, because when I went to google.com and did a search on the GA18DE, there were more than just the Sun's engines website, that made mention of the GA18DE. Maybe I'll have to go back and do some more searching. :(

I've heard old maximas or something had GA20 engines. They weren't dohc though and were quite simpler than modern GAs. (Found this out from a thread on this board a while back...search if you want to read it yourself).

Yes there is GA18 Engine

Yes Yes Yes, there is such a thiong as a GA18 DE engine, im picking up one this weekend. It came from another B13 from japan, that owner is swapping to on of the Srde 20 engines. Im getting the engine, its transmission & ECM box already modified for no speed cut.
Im throwing out the GA16 I got in mine.

That would be really cool if these engines do exist. But at this point, I won't believe it until I see it. I hope you can take a picture of it when you get it. I'd love this to be a reality, but after looking at the close bore spacing of the GA16DE, I can't imagine Nissan getting 1800 cc's out of the GA block.

I agree
We have a couple n.a. 'ga17' blocks around, ga16 bored 1mm more
It has something like 1650 cc displacement, but the pain is not worth it unless you want all posible power from that engine
Turbo is way cheaper and reliable power
Peace
