i have a 86 with the z24i and it wont start i have no idea whats wrong with it. the fuel pump gets power to it i can jump power to it if i take the relay out and bridge it. but when i put the relay back in nothing happens. does anyone know what could be wrong with it? and the relay is still good i even tried a new one to make sure.

Under your glove box, or behind the kick panel, on that side, there is a fuel pump switch. On my 720, it's under the glove box, behind the kick panel toward the top. Check there, and check the harness plug to it, to see if it's clean. It's been a couple years, but I had to find mine, and clean it. It kept the truck from starting, and probably feeds to the relay. I never checked to diagrams, I just cleaned the connector, and the box terminal. After that, the pump kicked on as it should.
Good Luck
