Hi All,
I'm a new UK owner of a 2004 2.2DCI X-Trail SVE, which I've wanted for ages. Only has 26000miles on it.

BUT, it has a terrible shudder/rumble on idle, the whole car seams to shake! I've have read on these forums, that it is normal, but other XTs that I have driven (same 2.2 dci) didn't do this. Any clues as to what it could be. It idles at about 800-900rpm, slightly higher with AC on. Will a K&N help? EGR valve?

Send issue is that the clutch is slipping, which I find diffcult to understand at only 26000miles! Is it a common failure?

3rd issue is that I have read via these forums that the turbo/intercooler and fuel pump are likely to fail, so I'm a bit concerned about this - anything I can do to prevent it?

Other than these issues everything works as it should, engine pulls really well, no faults have been registered in the ECU.

Sorry for long first post, but hopefully some one can help!
Thanks and great forum BTW!!

Hi,

Regarding idle behavior, possibly injector failure.

Clutch life time depends very much on the Offroad usage or heavy trailer. It can last otherwise more than 100000km.

2003/2005 X_Trail turbo normal life expectancy requires that all engine updates be done by the garage. In case of small milage, some of them have been likely jumped; that needs strict checking.
