i have a 97 max se, all i have in it currently is an injen cai... i am putting a y-pipe on this spring and am just wondering if there is a change to the exhaust note. i dont have a cat-back exhaust so i know there wont be a huge change, but was curious if there is any at idle or wot. any feedback would be welcome.

The noise you will hear will be from the Injen. Any other intake than stock overpowers a mostly stock exhaust.

I had cat-back before I got my y-pipe. After I installed my y-pipe my exhaust was so loud my door panels started to rattle. Its awesome. At idle it gurgles like a V8.

In other words, there should be a sound difference. but the sound of your intake will probably drown out most of it. btw, have you had any trouble with your injen cai shaking your throttle body loose?

Injen has a beautiful intake sound. Since I have a completely stock exchaust, save for y. It sounds beastly when I get on it. I'm betting you can change the filter to get even more throughput on that tiny intake filter
