Just about to go out and my car won't start DAMN!!!

98' 200SX SE. Never a problem ever.

Original battery, and I think thats the problem-its old.

When I try to start her, she just makes this flickering noise in the dash. no headlights will come on. I think its the battery. if it was something else I would have had some notice right? something wouldn't have felt right when I was driving her right? I am looking for peace of mind I guess untill I can get this resolved tomorrow. If you guys could just give me a quick shout and let me know what you think that would be great- thanks !!!

does the car attempt to turn over? if all you get when you try to start the car is a click, or nothing at all then most likely it can be either the starter or the alternator. if the car attempts to turn over then most likely its the battery. try jumping the car. hope that helps

most likely the battery if the headlights won't come on. Can you tell if you left something on overnight or something?

Have the Bat. checked

if nothing come on then you have a dead battery. it cant be the alternator because that does not kick in till the car is started (think about it, it has to be spinning to work) and the reason all you hear is a click is because the battery does not have enough juice to turn the starter over, but just enough to ingage the teeth(thus the click). hope this helps

I was just freaking out for real!! I got the battery and I'm good to go. I was TRAMATIZED by Discount auto parts. THEY SUCK!!!!
