i have a 2000 nissan sentra gxe. it is a 5speen and has 101,000 miles on it. My idle has been acting uo ands the ses light is on. the code scanner is saying p0171 system to lean bank1 and p0174 system to lean bank2. i have seen posts on here talkin bout mafs and ecms and o2 sensors and i was wondering i can get some advice on how to check these sensors. and i was wondering if a vaccum leak could cause this problem.

I also have th same problem. I most often experience the problem when the car is on the highway at about 3000rpm. I also read the posts, there is no info on how to target the problem. Replacing working sensors will get pricey.

I have same problem

I have a 2001 sentra gxe 1.8 with 115k on it
last year with 4 ppl in the car in the highway when it was on crouse, the ses light cam up.
after about a week the ses light went off by itself!!!!
but later on the light came on again and went off by itself after 10-15 days.
again the light came up, this time I read the code and it was P171 and P174
(system too lean)
I cleared the code but came up again after few days.
I got a MAF cleaner and cleaned MAF but no luck.
car is running ok. I don't know what can be the problem and how can I fix it.

please help
