Ok so i have a 93 Sentra E as a daily driver back and forth to work. About a week ago i went to start it and it ran for about a second then died. it sounded like it wasnt getting fuel but i herad the fuel pump and it smelled like it was flooded. i am getting fuel to the injectors and i checked the signal going to them with a Noid Light in acordiance with the chilton manual all four passed. Next i checked spark, i pulled out each plug wire and had someone crank the engine while i watched them ark to ground. again all worked. so i checked the TPS sensor with a meter and it was fine. so i replaced the engine temparture sensor and still nothing. I then got to the ECM and checked to see if it threw a code and got code 55 which according to the book means nothing is wrong. I seem to be getting fuel air and spark but it just wont turn over. I searched but cant seem to find any thing on this. I dont know what else to change/replace and i need HELP. If anyone can give me some more infor or direct me to a thread i may have overlooked please let me know. thanks ahead of time for any info.

If there is no code check the spark system again.
open the distributor, if there is oil in there you need a new / rebuilt one.
anyone else ???

Dont know if this will work for you but I have a 93 sentra that this happened to and I ended up finding on this forum the solution. Press the gas pedal all the way down and crank it till it starts. Sounds strange but it worked for me.

My 92 Sentra was idling when I reached over to rotate the throttle and as soon as I did, the engine belched, ran rough, died, and even after new cap, rotor, wires, plugs, all cylinders getting gas, all four plugs firing, it will not start. This sounds crazy, but when I pull the plugs to dry them off, the fuel seems to smell "old." I can't be sure if I am just thinking it smells funny or if it there is something wrong with it. I want to do the mode II check but I can't find the access hole for the test screw. Anyone know where it is on the ECU? Could the throttle position sensor have crapped out at the moment I rotated it, and would that keep it from starting?
