I was hoping the engine matrix at FreshAlloy would have the horsepower numbers for the BlueBird SR20DET, but it doesn't. It only shows the Silvia's SR20DET which has 250hp. I think the BlueBird's is less than the Silvias, so I'm guessing somewhere between 200-250hp. Do a google search for BlueBird and SR20DET. Gotta get back to studying for my quiz now...

200-250 is a whole lot for a 200 SX... man am i gonna have fun with this ;)
are there a lot of parts for the sr20det; like bolt-ons..
does anyone know of a place that sells this engine, and how much i should expect to pay...
E-bay had 2 of them, one was "buy it now" for $2,000

Actually the Sylvia DETs have three generations. The S13 has around 200, the S14 around 230-230 (think didnt pay much attention to that gen.), and the S15 around 250. I belive the BlueBird is right around that of the S13. That is still a lot of power for your 200SX.

IIRC, you are looking at $3-4k for the swap. You will need pretty much a new car. Someone correct me if I am wrong on this, but here is a list I compiled whilst researching the swap on my 200SX. Many times, most of this will already come on the motor, but if they arent on there, then you will the following:

Motor/tranny/turbo (obviously)
Wiring harness
Viscous LSD (IIRC)
Motor Mounts
ECU (and possibly it's holder)
Axles
MAF
Radiator & Hoses(dont remember if the GAs will work with the SRs)
Power Steering Pump & hoses
A/C components
Alternator
Accelerator and Clutch cables

Much of the info I have gleaned this from came from http://www.nissanperformancemag.com/february99/
http://www.se-r.net/
http://www.heavythrottle.com/

Be prepared for the unexpected to happen. I am certain there are parts other than what I have listed. You might consider buying an SE-R, then turboing it. I hope this helps!

honestly go to http://www.nippon-motors.com/prices.htm they got the engine on there for like 975 and if you can find a 96 se-r transmission it prolly would be cheaper for oyu to buy these your self and get someone to to the labor.....cause i got a price of 3500 for everything at this place in charleston, sc but i can juss get the engine for that 975 and i already got the tranny so is juss a matter of droppin it in....i am gonna do this swap when my sr20de engine goes but if you got n e more questions hit me up [email protected] oh yea and the 96 se-r tranny bolts directly to the engine so no questions bout that either...i have already done my research....
