Hi,
I've been lurking these boards for about a month and haven't seen this issue (I'm sure it's been raised before) concerning the 1990 Sentra (I presume an XE) 2 door. All the info the owner's manual, under the hood stickers, door jam stickers, etc show the car with a GA16 engine (1597CC).

I'm looking at Nippon Motors and Noyan USA for tranny prices and the engines and transmission they list are GA15s for the 1990 model. Are the interchangable (GA16 engine w/ a GA15 tranny)? If not, what do I look for?

If you can tell me where to look on my tranny or what to look for I'll let you know when the sun rises. I've got a 90 sentra XE sedan witht the GA16i.

Nisssan never sold the GA15 engine here. Why are you looking for a tranny from one of those engines?

why looking at tranny

it was dying. it died. it was replaced by a 2003 tranny w/ 19 miles on it.
