okay I see all these listings for what engines I could have...how do I find out which one I have in my 88 Nissan Pulsar without going to a mechanic...I have a blown headgasket and would like to swap out the entire engine as opposed to spending the money to fix the headgasket....could someone please help me...

The car should also say either XE or SE somewhere on it. An 88 XE has the E16i I think and the 88 SE has the CA16DE.
