I would like to hear from anyone who's upgraded a belt driven fan to an electric fan. Was it worth the effort to gain HP, MPG or quiet the noisy belt driven fan. I may try to experiment with this as it is reversable if the results are bad. Originally I had the idea to put it on a switch but I do see they can be activated by temperature. Seems like a great cheap upgrade or isnt it?

Works OK, eliminates the noisy clutch fan, reduces drag on the engine, but don't expect amazing results. It just helps a little bit.

Since its about 10-20 degrees here I think I can take the fan right off and go through a tank of gas driving to and from work as a test. I wont be running into any traffic but ill throw the fan in the back in case I need to put it back on if things get too hot. I doubt ill see any temperature increase under those driving conditions. I think ill be safe going fanless.
