Hope someone can help. If this has been asked before don't blast me I am new here. I had my check engine light diagnosed and the shop said it was a problem with the egr system. They wanted another $60.00 an hour to tell me exactly what the problem was and I had to pay $60 just for the replacing a the egr valve a difficult job and where exactly is the valve? Thanks for the help

The FIRST thing you should do is check the code yourself and confirm the EGR issue. CHeck ALL of the hoses to and from the EGR. There are like 3 or 4 small rubber hoses that go into and out of the EGR. I had the CEL for the EGR and one of those hoses was rotted out. That same thing has happened to a few people so be sure and check the hoses.
