Yes!

I bought my 93 XE (automatic) first as a daily driver.
Started to mod it, PR CAI, Eibach with shortned struts, Greddy Sp exhaust. It was fun but, I found a taken care of SE-R that the owner before me had done some light mods to already. I have loved that car ever since I bought her.

Its like this...if you never drive a SE-R you'll be okay but, once you do you will never want to go back. The search is worth it. Good luck.

I drove a 92 Sentra XE with the 1.6l and automatic. I had intake, exhuast, timing, etc. I thought the car was so badass. Then I totalled it. I happened to find a 92 SE-R and from the minute I drove it I had to have it. I bought it the same day I saw it. Do yourself a favor, hold out for it.

i bought a 91 Sentra E brand new and started modding it w/ i/e, at the time i thought it was already peppy, then i started reading about the SE-R and had to have one so i sold the Sentra E to a co-worker when i finally found a used 91 Sentra SE-R. when i first drove it going home i was very amazed w/ all the power and handling, stock it is a totally different beast from the regular Sentra's, modifying it made me look forward to driving the car to and from work , unfortunately i crashed the 91 classic back in 99 on a Sunday.
The next day i was very lucky to find a 92 classic and purchased it on the spot.
I know i will be driving SE-R's for life, once you ride in one you will never let go.

I'm in the same position... DYING FOR AN SE-R!!!

I drove my brother-in-laws and it was amazing. I loved nothing more than killing that stupid Civic Hatch that had a GIANT muffler... there's no way that was full exhaust. I could hear his car making feeble attempts to keep up with me. Then I let him get in front of me just so I could harrass him. I guess you can say I'm not fond of guys in Honda's that think they're fast. Just today I saw a 4door accord with the same "Knight w/ Lance" decal as the Supra from Fast and the Furious. What a dork.. he had that fake dual exhaust too.

But the minute I drove that SE-R... oh man what a ride. Now my little brother has an XE and my BMW 320i got him. But he was pretty new at driving a stick. He got me the other day off the line and I wasn't quite ready for him.

But I definitely say an SE-R will be worth it... I just have to find one around Seattle here... next to impossible.

BTW, does anyone know who ownes the Orange B13 Sentra that on autotrader? It's got a really clean bodykit and a killer paint job (Metallic Mandarin Pearl). Go to autotrader.com and put your zip as 98166, then just look for the 91-94 Sentras. You'll see it, they're asking $5200. Let me know if you guys know who's that is cuz its pretty sweet!

When you're looking to buy... don't forget to run a carfax report! Saved my butt big time. There was a guy down in Florida selling a '93 with low miles on it. I test drove it, gears were good, but is was making a funny sound in the rear of the car. Was prepared to buy it right there, but decided to run the carfax report. The car had a Salvage/Junk Title. It had been totalled back in late '97 or early '98. This meant that the car probably had over $7500 worth of damage done to it. Doesn't mean the car wasn't ok, but you don't know who did the work and what the damage was. Why take the chance? And remember... if you are buying from the dealer, he has to tell you whether or not the Title in "clean". A private seller doesn't!

Motto of this story... run the carfax report. And happy hunting!

Buy one, you won't regret it.
I bought my '92 SE-R new in Feb of 1992. Only a few knew how great this car was back then. It's taken awhile, but it seems like the rest of world has finally caught on. Not many were sold initially, so there isn't enough to go around now that the SE-R's popularity has risen.
If you think finding an Classic SE-R is difficult, try finding an NX2000. They are even harder to find.

i want a white or black nx2000 SO bad. i finally got a se-r after looking for 3 yrs. there arent that many to go around to begin with. Most people that have them dont want to sell them. for example, I would go to a business or house where i saw one in front of it and asked who owned it. i tried that atleast 5 times and everyone i talked to did not wanna sell theirs.

I drove 21 hours each way to get my SE-R. Then I drove 14 hours each way to get my NX. If your drive is only an hour, I would not complain too much. :D

I bought a 93 Sentra XE brand new, and it was a nice little car, excellent gas mileage and lasted for 160k easily, but the SR20 cars just were too good to pass up. The power and potential is so much greater with the SR20. It is definitely worth it to find a good SE-R.

3900 is still a little too rich for my blood. I am a full time college student and only work part time.....but i would give a kidney for a NX2000
