[89Sentra]

I know I've read on this site that the 1989 Sentra has a GA16i engine. But I just got my Haynes manual and it says the GA16i engine is only for 1990 and up.

Can someone clear this upand tell me what I have... Thanks

Well my car is living proof that the GA16i engine is in the 89 Sentra. It must be a typo.

bad Haynes lol my chiltens sais it nice and clear.... 89/90 sentra Ga16i only two years it was produced in the sentra in America.

The B12 Sentra was offered with 2 engines. 1987 and 1988 models got the E16i, whereas the 1989 and 1990 models recieved the GA16i.

i got the Haynes Manual that says "for all Nissan Sentra 1982-1990 Gasoline Engine Models..."

I guess it was misprint..

i dunno why it says for all gasoline models. Its not liek there was a North American Diesel or a Natural gas engine...

it says does not cover diesal engine adn 4wd models...

the book was published in england.. maybe thats why

No, unless I'm all wrong too, there was a diesel (CD17) version in the early '80s. Most likely not very common.

i dunno, the Japanese got diesels for the B11s, B12's and stuff. Ive never seen a diesel Sentra, but if one exists in North America then i think ive found the ultimate project car!!!!

found one desiel in the junk yard one time. wierd huh ..

i got the Chiltons repair manual for 1982-92 sentra all the diff engines and everything for canadian and US cars.

this book is awsome i had it for like forever

You guys are still babies!!! he he he!! I was 16 when I bought in 1989 my brand new GA16i Pulsar NX. Yeah thats right I have it now for 13 years and counting.
