I recently purchased a 2005 sentra 1.8s after some guy cut me off and totaled my WRX. After having the sentra for 2 weeks, I have instaled a 2 1/4 in. Greddy cat-back exhaust system.

I was wondering if an "02+ SE-R SPEC-V COLD AIR INTAKE" would fit and work properly on a 2005 1.8s

Also another question regarding intake:

Is it true that the HotShot intake that supposedy fits all 2000+ 1.8 sentras does not fit properly on 2005 models?

And if it doesnt fit, is there some way to easily make it fit?

No. The Spec V intake will not work.

As far as fitment issues of the 01-03 v 04+, I have never heard this. The engine is the same, the body size is the same and I would imagine most of the internals are the same. I would imagine the HotShot CAI does fit, but another member who knows more about the QG will shine light on that.

I asked around in a bunch of places and most say the hotshot intake works fine on 2005 1.8 sentras. I went ahead and ordered it this morning from horsepowerfreaks.com. Hopefully I get it early next week and can install it next weekend.

I have had my hotshot intake installed for over a month now and it works great. It has a nice sound to it when it starts sucking in air and works well with my exhaust. Im acually getting the hotshot header installed in 2 days.

How did the install go? Any parts missing? Any problems whatsoever?

Is it just me or it seems like nothing fits the 2005 1.8s?????

I had a shop install my intake for $80 and from what they told me and what i observe of thhe intake, it appears to fit fine. I havent had any problems with it at all. As far as mpg goes, i havent really thought about it but o it might be slightly better.

My MPG has not changed since I installed my intake. I still get 30-33 mpg. I haven't had any huge problems nor minor.

I JUST got a hotshot intake put my 03 Sentra YESTERDAY. I had it installed at a proffesional tuning shop. While the guy was assembling it after taking the stock crap intake off he couldnt fit two pieces of the piping together (piping that goes down to the air filter was smaller then the other piece) and he had hammer one out a little bit wider to get it to fit. Also one of the red foam pieces that came with it (I'm a total newbie) I think its for air insulation and heat dissapation wouldnt rap around the piping. They had tons of extras so he grabbed one from in the shop and gave it to me free.
With the new intake I love it, coupled with my Catback exhaust system I get a really throaty sound on my engine, no more wheeeeeze from my GXE :)
