Clutch pedal makes a hole!!

Any of you guys have to push your clutch into the damn floor in order to start your car? My flooring has a hole behind the clutch pedal now!! I had a 98 200sx S-ER before and it never did it. But with this 96 200sx SE it's crazy. The guy who owned it before noticed it because he stuck a shop rag in to fill the hole!!

Yep, same car and same problem here. I've had the clutch replaced and it was still the same. To put it into first is the same, it has to go all the way down. None of the other gears are like that though. 2nd through 5th you only have to push it in a little bit. Looks like we are the only ones up kris.

I'm having the same problem. It's the clutch interlock switch on top of the clutch pedal. I'm planning to put a spacer on it so I don't need to floor the clutch to start the car.

let us know how it goes and what size spacer you used.
Yeah, do tell. I'm getting an ACT Stage 1 put in tomorrow. A few days ago I installed a set of pedals in the 200 and I have to bury the clutch pedal in the floor in order to get it to start. I'm worried that it will eventually eat a hole in the floor. I'm curious to find out how to fix this flaw.

my clutch engages up near the top the only time i have to push it all the way down is when starting but it never touches the floor of the car
You've been blessed then my son!
yah I have the sme problem ... its a lovely thing isnt it ? I have really noticed it since I had my clutch xplode on me about a year ago ... I had Aamco throw it in for a pretty penny since I am a little weary of playing with my tranny ... so long story short , 800 bucks and I think they gave me a refurbished disc but thats besides the point ... I noticed a REAL clutch looseness and I REALLY had to mash it into the floor for start or 1st gear ... I found in the manual a while ago the "normal clutch play length" so if anyone has the manual and a measuring tape and lots of spare time b my guest ... um yah ... aftermarket pedals make it a ton worse since their shape is generally larger than the stock rubber covers , some advice if ur looking for a quick temporary fix pull the rubber covers off and use the smaller metal pedal ... its tacky but it really helps with this problem.
If u guys find a fix for this please put it up i would love to read about it
