I have a 90 sentra with 202K miles on it, I'm very thorough with the maintenance and repairs, recently I've noticed that when going over bumps at slow speeds I can hear a clunking noise that seems to be coming fom the front end, both sides, sometimes I hear the noise with out going over bumps but when turning the wheel (manual steering), I've jacked the car up with the suspension hanging (jack under sill plate and with the jack under the control arm) and checked everything I could think to check under the car and nothing is loose or has play, I thought the pulsar front sway bar may be hitting something but it is clear of everything, than I noticed the bumper was moving around and the metal plate under the bumper had room to move, of course the small 10mm bolts are rusted so bad they just snap so I screwed like 9 self tapping screws thru the metal strip into the metal under the bumper, still have the noise. The only other thing I noticed is the radiator lower bushings may be worn out as the radiator can move up and down slightly. going to order the 2 bushings and replace them soon. Anyone think of anything else I can check?? Thanks

figured out what the noise was, the drivers side endlink for the sway bar, the nut was loose, problem solved

Good, you found the problem.
It's good to see you still around with a sentra.
I have a quick question for you. You did the tach cluster swap, and swapped out the harness right? I just fineshed the swap, and the new harness does not have hookups for my radio. Everything else works perfectly, except no where to hook my radio.

the tach cluster harness in American cars does NOT extend down to include the radio, In Canada cars it does, it shows the 2 harnesses in the service manual. Are you in Canada?

No!
I thought I just found a wierd car at the wrecker. Now I am unsure what to do next, maybe rip a little more into the sportback at the wrecker?
I noticed that my car has somewhere like 2 dozen extra plugs on the harnesses that are not connected. I have found several options that I could add without a harness change so far, but there are still many that I can only guess what they are for.

the service manual should list what all the un used connectors are for, if you don't have one I can scan mine for you.

that is all they show, the US harness (at least the one I took out of my 90 with out tach and also the one I got for the tach cluster I swapped in were the same) they looked like the diagram except they ended after plug number 18I I guess 22I would be present for the coupes but that plug doesn't matter as it is on the opposite side of the harness.
