Well to actually read the code you'll need a Consult II. You could use a manual as well if you've got one that lists all the codes.
As for removing the CEL, it really depends on whats causing the CEL to come on. Usually you can just unplug the battery for a few hours and let the ECU reset itself. Just depends on why the CEL is on.
