Changing Negative Battery Cable Questions

Looks like I've figured it out. The existing is DEFINITELY a bad workaround. I will just put an O ring connector on and replace the ground bold since I found where it used to be and put the ground there.

In most cases, battery cables will last for at least 150,000 km. However, they won't need to be replaced until they start showing signs of wear. Since battery cables are constantly in use, wear can occur. This usually happens due to corrosion, over heating or the insulation perishing.

Hi. Thanks for your answer. I was looking at it backwards and upside down apparently. It's actually the positive cable and I got it in for the most part but couldn't get the small wire into the connector and crimped well enough for it to stay so I have given up for tonight. Buckit has 212,000 miles on her. The small wire was damaged and the plug in that was there was melted some. I will update once I figure it out or get someone to look at it.
