I changed my fluid today and filter. I just used the store brand fluid. I know honda's ATF is more strict and honda hate any other fluids. My car seems to be running good, but is Nissan specific on which fluid to use?

Nissan recommends their "Matic-D" trans fluid, which I think is equivalent to Dexron 3.

I just went to Advance Auto and got their ATF which is supposed to be compatible with Nissan. Seems to be fine.

Dex three I was told is what to use and mines a 96. Seems to be working fine......
